Sudbury welcomes new Ontario SPCA animal centre supervisor

Robert Poirier, the animal centre’s new supervisor, brings to the position over twenty years of management expertise and a deep dedication to serving to others.. With a ardour for teamwork and animal welfare, he’s rapidly making his mark – main with heat, vitality, and a real love for the animals and folks he serves.

Robert’s connection to town fuels his need to present again – not solely by serving to animals, but additionally by supporting the individuals who look after them. 

A lifelong love for animals 

Robert’s love for animals started early. When his mom determined to commerce tenting journeys for farm life, their dwelling and property rapidly crammed with a number of several types of animal pals.

From his first day on the Sudbury & District Animal Centre, Robert was struck by the dedication of his group.Robert describes a typical day on the centre as filled with vitality, teamwork, and dedication.  

“One factor that shocked me is what it actually takes to make our animal centres run like they do…it takes a military,” Robert says. “From the time we stroll within the door, we hit the bottom operating, caring for these animals and discovering them their new properties. Our group treats each animal like their very own till they discover somebody who loves them as a lot as they do.” 

Trying forward 

Robert is happy for the way forward for the Sudbury & District Animal Centre.  

“We’re at all times evolving,” he says. “What excites me most is the influence we proceed to make – discovering new methods to assist animals and strengthen our group. Individually, we’re steppingstones within the group’s path to attain our targets and ship that constructive influence.” 

When he’s not on the animal centre, Robert enjoys spending time outside along with his household, cheering on his daughter’s Sudbury North Stars ringette group, and supporting his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs.  

A message to the group 

“We couldn’t do what we do with out our fosters, volunteers, and co-op college students,” says Robert. “Any assistance is appreciated enormously by us and the animals, and the influence you’ll have – little or huge – is particular and intensely rewarding.” 

In relation to adoption, Robert’s ardour is evident. 

“There’s one thing really particular about it,” he says. “The bond between a household and their new animal – it’s pure pleasure.” The Ontario SPCA is thrilled to welcome Robert to the Ontario SPCA Sudbury & District Animal Centre. Together with his compassionate management and lifelong love for animals, he’s already making a long-lasting influence on the group.
